FAQs

What can I expect:

First session.

  • The first session is an opportunity to meet and discuss your needs and requirements, ask questions and decide if my style of working is right for you. This is also an assessment process to see if I am able to help you with your concerns.

Types of Therapy.

As an intergrative therapist I am able to offer different styles of therapy depending on what your concerns are. Please feel free to discuss this with me if you have a preferred therapeutic approach in mind.

I offer both short and long term individual therapy.

  • For some people 6 - 12 sessions can be all you need to help you through a difficult time. Short term therapy can also be a trial process for the client and an assessment process for the therapist, in order to decide if therapy is right for you. Both parties can then consider and agree further sessions if required by the client or a referral can be made to another professional who maybe better suited to your requirements if you wish. This is always the clients choice.
  • Long term therapy can be beneficial for people who wish to understand their issues in more depth and is usually discussed from the onset or after a period of short term therapy. This again is the client’s choice.

Governing bodies and DBS.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of conduct  and ethics to ensure safe and ethical practice.

I hold a current and up to date enhanced DBS certificate. (Previously CRB)

I recommend weekly sessions.  Each session lasts for 60 minutes.
